Pixelord’s newest project ‘Polygon Fane EP’, will be out for digital release on July 28th and vinyl in late August.
Pierre Codarin drops his debut for Saints & Sonnets following releases for Leftroom and Sincopat. His idiosyncratic take on modern, electronic house music bleeds through each track, all underpinned by the unmistakable sound of a Roland TR808. Think moody, groovy late night fare and you’re not far off - unique sounding stuff for the heads with support from Droog, Brothers’ Vibe, Friend Within, James Zabiela, Voyeur, Vince Watson, Rolando, Darko Esser, Mr G, Groove Armada, Ryan Crosson and more.
Saints & Sonnets return with their twelfth release, coming courtesy of Jabru who offers up ‘Boat Drinks EP’, accompanied by an Adesse Versions Remix.
Rising British artist Jabru is rapidly becoming one of the UK’s finest exports having released material via leading imprints such as Futureboogie, Paradise Club and XVI, as well as making up one half of the Bruh Jackman outfit alongside Hackman. Here we see Jabru join the roster of Huxley & Jimmy Poster’s Saints & Sonnets imprint, slotting him in alongside the likes of Detroit Swindle, Ethyl and Second City, which stands as testament to the contemporary appeal embodied in his output.
Title cut ‘Boat Drinks’ kicks things off, tipping the focus towards raw, dusty drum sounds and sweeping atmospherics. While elongated bass licks, smooth chord progressions and bubbling percussive elements gradually blossom over the track’s seven minute duration to create a gritty, hypnotic workout.
This is followed by the original mix of ‘Hubris ft. MTD’ which takes things in a contrasting direction, veering things towards a more house orientated sound with bright piano stabs, heavily swung rhythms, bulbous sub tones and intricately processed vocal snippets. Then Prime Numbers artist Adesse Versions rounds off the package with his rework of ‘Hubris ft. MTD’, stamping his signature deep and rugged vibe on the original cut, taking a more sparse approach with the drums and bringing the cosseting, melodious aspects to the forefront to close the package in style.

Slow Waves is a collection of multi-layered memories, stacked like grainy polaroids in an old box in the closet or under the bed while the colours fade. A young Rob at the beach or on his first day of grammar school. Images of travels across Europe and Japan, moments slipping in trains or planes while landscapes pass by. Memories so unique to his life, yet so similar to the fading memories of youth and adolescence we all have…
After a series of well acclaimed EP’s, each of them created at very specific moments in the artists life, @submerse took the time and sat down to reflect and convert all these memories into his first full length album on Project: Mooncircle.
'Slow Waves' comes out worldwide on limited double vinyl, limited handmade and handpainted cassette edition (both including download code) as well as a limited edition CD including a bonus track via @flaurecords in Japan.

Track list 1. Lego 2. GBH 3. The Rain Is Coming
Purp & Soul’s first release of 2014, and their 9th thus far, comes from label head honcho Ben Pearce. The ‘Lego’ EP which will be released later this February sees Pearce return with a more club influenced approach that will certainly turn heads for all the right reasons.
The Manchester born and bred DJ and producer released his first full-length EP ‘What I Might Do’ in 2012 via MTA Records, dominating club floors across the entire world and topping at #7 in the UK Charts. The EP gained plenty of backing from the likes of Jamie Jones, Annie Mac, Heidi and it was nominated ‘Essential New Tune’ on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 Show.
‘Lego’ takes an alternate direction to WIMD, displaying Pearce’s energetic and unique style which he injects into the clubbing realm. These tracks have been tried and tested in venues globally, made only with the dance floor in mind. The vigorous off-beat bassline in ‘Lego’ mixed with the catchy unyielding vocal samples creates a stark contrast to ‘The Rain Is Coming’, with its luscious synth pads and bewildering nature. ‘GBH’ brings it all back with its distinctive vocal samples and entrancing beat, rounding the EP off perfectly and making it instantly captivating and memorable.
In addition to his DJing and producing, Pearce’s independent label and DJ agency Purp & Soul will be having its busiest year yet. The tight-knit label is host to a wide range of genres with its efforts to push unknown talent into the spotlight, will be releasing a split EP from three exceptional artists, a record from Harry Wolfman and the launch of a vinyl only sub label. Ben considers Purp & Soul’s roster to be like a family, with a fresh array of talented artists, such as Harry Wolfman, Mark Wells, Resketch and Real Connoisseur to name a few.
A busy global touring schedule, including Bugged Out Weekender, Snowbombing, Miami WMC and an Australian tour should make for a very busy year for both himself and Purp & Soul as a label. On top of that, Ben continues his close relationship with MTA Records, and is set to release a single in April with London based trio Black Orange Juice, watch this space for more new music from the man himself.
MTA Records are excited to announce their new release, a collaboration between returning hero Ben Pearce and hotly-tipped trio Black Orange Juice. The four masterminds have joined heads and the outcome is ‘Predictable’, a soulfully smooth but bumping single that equally showcases lyrical flair and production prowess.
