Following acclaimed excursions on Hypercolour (‘Needs You EP’) and Will Saul’s Aus Music (‘Child EP’) last year, George FitzGerald has returned to his Hotflush home for the first time since 2011. Premiering in FitzGerald’s debut Radio 1 Essential Mix last month as part of the ‘2013’s Future Stars’ series, ‘Thinking Of You’ dropped as a Beaport exclusive on 18th March, and is now set for full physical release complete with the equally compelling ‘Nighttide Lover’ on the flip.

With over 100k Soundcloud plays prior to release and a fixture in the Beatport top 40 ever since, ‘Thinking of You’ needs no going-over. Its b-side counterpart, however, is one of FitzGerald’s rawest cuts yet. Immediate and punchy with no less of his emotive trademark, ‘Nighttide Lover’ is every bit the sweaty hit to usher in the Ibiza season.

The last twelve months have been extremely busy for FitzGerald as he continues to capture the attention of industry heads and fans alike with his refined and emotive homegrown club music. Releasing music on his regular home Hotflush, as well as Will Saul’s Aus Music imprint and the acclaimed Hypercolour stable, not to mention his own burgeoning ManMakeMusic imprint, FitzGerald’s flourishing discography continues to grow steadily but impeccably.

Release number eight on ManMakeMusic , the Laszlo Dancehall EP, connects two of the UK’s most exciting young producers: Leon Vynehall and Christian Piers. The sample driven crunch of Vynehall’s earlier productions on ManMakeMusic can be heard loud and clear complementing the canny but irresistible percussive and vocal shimmies of Piers.

A-­side track “Gave Up”, championed by *George FitzGerald* on his recent BBC Essential mix for Radio One, sets the pace and aims straight at the dancefloor with its strange sonic palette, at once euphoric and gritty. On the flip we get “Ain’t No Time” on which Vynehall and Piers give us their interpretation of classic house. The final track, “Manley Harrison”, is the strangest and arguably most original of the bunch. It’s been getting support from Anthony Naples amongst others and leaves any listener in no doubt as to why there is such a buzz about these two producers at the moment.
